About Old Trafford

Manchester United have played at Old Trafford since 1910, on Sir Matt Busby Way beside the Bridgewater Canal. It is the largest club ground in England: the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand (North) and Sir Bobby Charlton Stand (South) run along the pitch, with the East Stand and the Stretford End (West) behind the goals — and away support in the East Stand.

The ground also hosts the Super League Grand Final each October and occasional internationals, so what is on sale here is not only football. Everything currently listed appears below.

Getting to Old Trafford

The ground is two miles south-west of Manchester city centre and is easiest reached by tram. Allow extra time on matchdays: the last mile is closed to traffic and the tram platforms queue heavily after the final whistle.

  • Tram Old Trafford stop on the Altrincham line, 5 minutes' walk. Wharfside on the Eccles line is 10 minutes.
  • Train Manchester Piccadilly to Deansgate-Castlefield, then the tram; about 25 minutes door to door.
  • On foot 35 minutes from Deansgate along the canal towpath.
  • Car No public parking at the ground on event days. Park-and-ride at Trafford Bar or the Trafford Centre.

Old Trafford tickets: frequently asked questions

Manchester United's home fixtures in the Premier League and Europe, the Super League Grand Final each October, and occasional internationals and concerts. Everything currently on sale is listed above.

In the East Stand, at the lower tier. Official away allocations are distributed through the visiting club; resale listings for the rest of the ground may carry a home-support restriction, which is shown on the listing before you pay.

The Sir Bobby Charlton Stand along the side gives the fullest view of play. The Stretford End behind the goal is the loudest, and the second tier of the North Stand is the highest and the cheapest.

Bags larger than A4 are not admitted and there is no left luggage on site. Gates open 90 minutes before kick-off and every ticket is scanned from a phone, so arrive with a charged battery.
