Home Advantage in the Premier League: Which Clubs Benefit Most From Playing at Home in 2025/26?

PREMIER LEAGUE

With a new Premier League season just around the corner, we took a moment to look back at how the last one played out, home versus away. Every football fan knows the feeling: your team looks like world-beaters at their own stadium, then turns into a shadow of themselves on the road. "Home advantage" gets thrown around constantly in punditry, but how big is it really, and which club benefits from it the most?

We pulled every result from the full 2025/26 Premier League season and compared each club's home form against their away form, points-per-game. The gap between the two tells you how much a team really leans on its own fans, pitch, and four walls, and it's a useful thing to know before you decide where to spend your match tickets.

The biggest home fortress: Fulham

Who really benefits from home advantage? — Premier League 2025/26

No club had a bigger split than Fulham. At Craven Cottage they played like top-four contenders: 11 wins, 2 draws, 6 losses, scoring 30 goals and conceding just 20, good for 1.84 points per game. On the road, they fell apart: 4 wins, 4 draws, 10 losses, scoring only 16 while shipping 30, just 0.89 points per game. That's a swing of +0.95 PPG, easily the largest in the division. Fulham are basically two different teams depending on the postcode, and Craven Cottage tickets have been by far the better buy of the two.

4Brighton & Hove Albion1.781.11+0.67
5Manchester United2.171.53+0.64
6Manchester City2.371.76+0.60

Interestingly, champions Arsenal actually posted the single highest home points-per-game in the league (2.44, scoring 40 and conceding just 11), but because they were also excellent away from home (2.00 PPG, 30 goals scored), their home advantage ranks a modest 12th (+0.44). Being great everywhere is arguably scarier than being great only at home.

The team that hates its own stadium

Then there's Tottenham Hotspur, the league's one true reverse case. Spurs picked up just 12 points from 18 home games (0.67 PPG, a 2-6-10 record, scoring only 19 goals while conceding 31) but nearly doubled that on the road with 26 points from 19 away games (1.37 PPG, 26 scored, 26 conceded). A -0.70 differential, dead last in the table below, and a genuine oddity: for whatever reason, Spurs fans have watched their side play better football somewhere else, which makes their away tickets the more entertaining watch this season.

What Home Advantage Means for Your Tickets

Home advantage isn't just folklore: for most clubs it's worth close to a full extra point per game, which over a 38-game season is the difference between a top-half finish and a relegation battle. If you're planning to catch a match in person, this is exactly the kind of form guide worth checking before you buy: some grounds really are a different beast on matchday.

Part of the explanation is probably atmosphere. Three of the loudest, tightest grounds in the division all sit at the top of this list:

Meanwhile, several of the clubs with the smallest (or negative) home advantage play in bigger, quieter bowls. It's not the whole story, but a raucous, close-to-the-pitch crowd plausibly counts for something.

Curious how this looks elsewhere? We ran the same home-versus-away numbers for Serie A too.
